Cartoons about dogs are about people, unless of course the cartoon itself is a dog.
It’s rare to find a cartoonist revealing the trials and tribulations of their journey. Maybe I haven’t looked that hard. You don’t necessarily want to look at the competition. But this guy, Avi Steinberg, tells all in this post called Voice Lessons? It’s comforting to think I might be on the same path, and will get better and better until eventually, ta da! I make 50 bucks.
Meanwhile, the dog still needs walking.

Settling on a caption can be tricky.
I really enjoyed drawing the people in the next two. And the first small dog. Also the tension in a straight line is amazing!
And finally, there are some places you just can’t go and should not try, even with dogs. Like Hitler cartoons, as Barry Blitt says. Actually he didn’t say that in that interview. I’m pretty sure he did somewhere, but then it turns out he did f’n Hitler.
