What a sad and frightening scene that was at the U.S. Capital on January 6th, 2021. What madness gripped so many Americans then, and still appears to today?
I did a lot of Trump cartoons back then, as much to try to reconcile myself with his ‘truthiness’ (a terrifyingly apt term coined by Stephen Colbert) as anything, e.g.
The sketch lent itself to many possible captions. Some variations can be found on my website. Hell, the caption could be “Democrats” just as easily if you are of that bent.
The top image is a bit dirty. I’m struggling to find my finished art style. I use an app called Procreate for finishing drawings and forgot to put the sketch on a separate layer. I did some erasing but kind of gave up. Below is before the erasing and below that is the original sketch.
