"Don't make me come in there!"
I thought I should quickly follow up my earlier post-rant with a ‘toon before you all jump ship.
This image is somewhat lighter, but still carping, in a way, on the dismal state of political debate in America. You can’t even dignify what’s going on with the term rhetoric.
The Blathering Idiot is mostly to blame, of course, but Dems aren’t innocent either. Cancel culture and the infection of universities, government and the non-profit sector by political correctness is collapsing whatever authenticity of intention these institutions have. It is hard to imagine how they are going to get cleaned up no matter which party takes the helm.
A lot of people feel “stern measures” are called for now, and I find it hard to disagree. And we know who Americans are looking to for that.
I have a series of cartoons that use the vicious circle idea, which I call ‘rounds. So I was delighted to see Michael deAdder using the trope this week. De Adder was laid off recently from his long term job with a Halifax paper but has, I think, always been a prolific freelancer (e.g. Washington Post). It looks like he’s getting picked up regularly by the Globe and Mail now . Thank goodness. He’s also generously sharing his work here on Substack (@deAdder). Lucky us!
Oh, I get it: deAdder, deEP state. takes some of us a minute lol.
