Did you know “seventh day” is a cartoon trope? Not as popular as the “desert island” or “prehistoric times,” but in the tool box, a go-to gag. This is not exactly a seventh day gag but it’s in the same neighbourhood.
The daily grind.
I am thinking about the seventh day today because here I am only at Day Five of my substack journey and I’m feeling a bit pressed. Luckily, I have a store of cartoons to fall back on. Anyway, I think “daily” for me means five days a week, like a week work, with weekends optional. Just so you know.
Enough whining, here’s another ‘toon on the same idea.
Coming soon.
Next week I start a five-day workshop with cartoonist, comics scholar and renowned teacher, Paul Karasik, learning how to do a graphic novel. The workshop is being put on by the Center for Cartoon Studies, imagine that, that there even is such a thing. Amazing!
So next week I’ll be posting “from” the workshop as it were. No grinding involved…
